Diploma in Petroleum Management

Course Overview

As the energy sector faces new challenges due to climate change and stiff competition from rival energy sources, the need for competent and informed management staff is crucial in the Oil, Gas and Petroleum industry. Petroleum Management Diploma is designed to help students become knowledgeable supervisors and managers in the Oil, Gas and Petroleum business. Students will learn about accounting, economics and laws governing Oil, Gas and Petroleum operations, storage and supply chain.  At the conclusion of the final module, students are required to complete three (3) months of industrial attachment. Students who graduate from this program will gain mid-level positions in the Oil & Gas Industry as environmental consultants or research administrators, operation managers, and senior team leads involved in the maintenance of the world’s oil and gas supply.

Course Structure
The course is delivered as a modular program examined by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).  A minimum KCSE overall Grade of C- (Minus). The course consists of three (3) modules, each six (6) months long. Examinations are taken at the conclusion of every module.


Diploma in Petroleum Geoscience

Course Overview
Diploma in Petroleum Geoscience is an interdisciplinary program in the Department of Mining & Geosciences designed to enhance both critical thinking and the technical skills that serve as the scientific foundation for practicing petroleum managers. Workshops, lectures and field trips enable students to learn about pressing scientific problems in petroleum exploration and production. At the conclusion of the final module, students are required to complete three (3) months of industrial attachment. Students who graduate from this program will gain mid-level technical and management positions in the Oil & Gas industry. The college has partnered with several relevant companies to ensure every student benefits from this experience, and enters the marketplace fully prepared for careers in the emerging Oil and Gas sector in Kenya, Uganda and Southern Sudan.

Certificate in Petroleum Geoscience

Students who graduate from this program will gain junior technical and management positions in the Oil & Gas industries. At the conclusion of the final module, students are required to complete three (3) months of industrial attachment. The college has partnered with several relevant companies to ensure every student benefits from this experience, and enters the marketplace fully prepared for careers in the emerging Oil and Gas sector in Kenya, Uganda and Southern Sudan.
